The Post Falls build now has a live tracker
I built a new page that shows the whole Post Falls project at a glance: the Post Falls ADU build tracker. Every question the build needs answered is on it. Nineteen so far. Each one is marked answered, partly answered, or open, with a source for every answer and the short version highlighted, so you can skim the whole thing in about a minute.
Below the questions sits a cost ledger. Three line items carry real numbers today: plans, at $0 if I use one of the four free pre-approved sets; the water/sewer capitalization fee, at $0 because the city says an ADU shares the main house's connection; and city permits, at $1,000 to $2,000 by the city's own estimate. Six more line items sit on the board with question marks, including the big one, construction itself. The totals only count what's priced, so they'll grow as answers land. That's the point.
There's a time ledger too. Twelve steps from prep to certificate of occupancy, in order, with the steps that can run at the same time shown side by side. Nobody publishes how long any of this takes in Post Falls. I'll fill in each duration as I live through it.
Two smaller things shipped with it. A Start Here guide puts everything on this site in the order you'd want it if you're researching your own project. And the posts now live under the Build Journal in the new navigation, which is a more honest name for what this is.
